Storyteller

Sculptor: Teofilis Patiejūnas Created: 1980 m.

Sculptures in the Hill of Witches exposition come in a variety of styles and themes. This should come as no surprise, it is, after all, the result of the creative imaginations of many authors, who drew their inspiration from Lithuanian folk traditions. This is clear from the very beginning of the exposition when visitors are greeted by the Storyteller. Following Lithuanian folk wisdom, tales were told to children by old wise men, who had lots of life experience and just as much free time after their day’s work was done. This tradition is depicted in the The Storyteller, a sculpture carved in 1980.
